The people telling you to "Do Memoirs Asap" are the people who ironically cause this phenomenon. There have been situations people have run into that ended with them being stuck with a character they can't progress without undoing a lot of what they've done, in regards to how they handled skill training and character leveling.

You see, the combat aspect of this game is based primarily upon stats and skills, not levels. Ive been trying find a guide on what the hell to do/tips/tricks/ so that I dont mess up my build (I heard someone say that you can ruin your character by leveling the wrong stuff?) Is this true? I pray it's not too late for this response.

If you have anymore feel free to message me on here, or on Mabinogi! Nao: Lspiers Alexina: Element18 I'm sorry this isn't more complete but I thought I'd help with a few questions. Magic is something that is useful throughout the game itself, as well as will be important in some quests, as will other skills like alchemy, chain blade, combat, etc. It does make it look a lot more visually confusing if you don't know what you're looking at when watching a videoĬhain Blades are a very popular choice right now as it does man AOE attacks and also can focus on single targets. I'd suggest checking out as it is an entire wiki for the game and has saved my butt countless times.ĭon't worry about all the inventory all over the place, you'll get those from events sometimes and just makes it easier to have more stuff (like a bunch of potions, weapons to swap to, etc.

To start just focus on your combat skills and magic basics (lightning bolt, fire bolt, icebolt), getting the beginning skills will make it a lot easier to counter skills and other moves. To begin I don't believe you can ruin your character depending on what you rank (build) as your character is able to gain every skill (minus the race specific and transformation specific skills).

Hey welcome to the game! Mabinogi is a HUGE and very confusing game but a ton of fun! Are these skills necessary for everyone or can I get away with using brute force for my entire mabinogi life? I want to play as a human male, I want to focus on melee combat aka swords/axes or whatever, also saw someone with a whip or a chain (very kinky and I like it), maybe thats good or maybe that falls under the same category? I have enough magic in my real life and therefor I don't find spells that interesting in this game (or other games for that matter), neither do I care for ranged combat like bows or crossbows. Anyone know of a good guide that actually makes sense to someone who has never touched the game? I need a guide that explains to me like I'm 10 years old or a complete idiot. Ive been trying find a guide on what the hell to do/tips/tricks/ so that I dont mess up my build (I heard someone say that you can ruin your character by leveling the wrong stuff?) Is this true? ALL OF THE "beginner" videos I've found on youtube are just really-anxious-sounding 16 year olds who make me more confused by immedietly starting to talk about late game stuff as if I already understood the game and the basics (Then saying that it will make sense later, but after 25+ minutes they still have not gotten to the effing point and I just want to kms), and if that wasn't confusing enough they constantly have 12 different inventory bags clusterf*cked all over the screen to confuse me more. From what I've understood the game is very different from other mmorpgs that hold your hand the entire time and literally have an arrow pointing towards your next quest. I'm a new player and I want to get into the game.
